Presentation Title:

Smart and resilient manufacturing as answer to pandemic effects on manufacturing economy

Abstract:

With its waves, the pandemic has had a great impact on everyone personally and above all on the economy. In the keynote, we will highlight the problems in the manufacturing industry that were triggered and intensified by the pandemic and show approaches to solutions with some current research results. A major problem in manufacturing was and is broken supply chains due to a lack of resilience. In addition to this the society and the economy have also been hit hard by the slow implementation of digitalisation and the lack of worker protection. The keynote ends with an outlook on what we can take away from the current pandemic as knowledge for the future and what measures industry should take with the help of research.
