Presentation Title:

How to create business in the age of Experience Economy – Let’s do research on Experience production!

  

Biography:

Kenichi Funaki has been engaged in open innovation strategy and practice more than a decade with various types of collaboration including joint research with universities and institutes, co-creation program with world-class leading companies, and joint business development with startups with innovative ideas. Besides, Funaki has over 20 years of experience in developing production, asset management, logistics and supply chain management systems with BPR, and has worked with customers in high-tech industries, machinery industries including automobile and precision machinery industries as well as retail industries. He was also engaged in lectureship at some universities including Sanno University, Tokyo Metropolitan University, and Graduate School of Information Science and Technology at Hokkaido University where he served as a visiting associate professor from 2010 to 2014.
Funaki received his doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Waseda University, Tokyo in 2001.

  

Abstract:

As the economy is getting more experience centric, we have to rethink and rebuild the way to create right business with right purpose. Recent rapid advance of technologies further presses companies for transformation of processes and skills for business development in the age of experience economy. In this talk, some of the state-of-the-art approaches and methods which have been brought into practice at Hitachi will be shown and discussed.
